QR Codes

Show a code, take the payment.

Print it for the counter, display it on a poster, or simply hold up your screen. Your customer points a phone camera at it and pays by card — there is nothing for them to install.

No card reader, no terminal, no app for your customer.

Why a code

A card payment you can tape to a wall

One square of ink does the job a terminal used to. It costs nothing to reprint, works on paper or glass, and every customer already carries the reader.

One code, all day

The same code serves every customer from opening to closing. Print it once and leave it on the counter instead of making a new one per sale.

Nothing to install

Your customer uses the camera that came with their phone. No app, no account, and no fiddling with a keypad they have never seen before.

Fixed or open amount

Lock the code to one price for a set menu or a single product, or leave it open so the payer enters the total you have just agreed.

Paper, screen, or poster

Stick it to a till, print it on a flyer, sit it in a stand on a market table, or turn your phone around and show it. The code does not mind.

Same dashboard as everything else

A scan lands beside your links, contracts, subscriptions, and store orders, counts towards the day's takings, and pays out to the same bank account.

Cards, and a wallet when it fits

Visa, Mastercard, and American Express every time, with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, or Cash App Pay offered when the payer is eligible.

Where it works

For the counter, the stall, and the doorstep

Anywhere you would once have said “cash only”, a code takes a card instead. It travels in a pocket, needs no power, and can be replaced with a photocopy.

  • Shops and cafésLeave it by the till so a queue can pay without waiting on a terminal.
  • Markets and pop-upsProp it on the table. It works the same on day one and day fifty.
  • Home visits and call-outsShow the code on your phone when the job is done.
  • Events and venuesPut it on signage, a wristband table, or the back of a ticket.

How it works

Three steps, and one of them is theirs

You make the code and put it somewhere visible. The customer does the middle step with a camera.

1

Make the code

Set a fixed price or leave the amount open, then print the code, save it for a poster, or keep it on your phone.

CodeReady to print
2

They scan it

The customer opens the camera, points it at the code, and a secure checkout page opens on their phone.

They pay by card

The payment appears in your dashboard next to every other sale, the receipt is emailed, and the money heads for your bank.

FAQ

QR code questions

No. The camera app on a modern phone reads the code and offers to open the checkout page. From there they pay by card, with no download and no account.

No. One code can serve every customer all day, which is why it works printed and pinned up. Make a separate code when you want a different price or want to keep a stall's takings apart from the shop's.

Yes. A code can carry a fixed price or leave the amount open for the payer to type. An open code suits a counter where every basket is different, and a fixed one suits a single product or a set fee.

In the same dashboard as every other sale, whether you are looking at the mobile app, the merchant portal, or the desktop app. Payouts go to your linked bank account, and the fee is 4.9% + $0.40 per payment on Free and Brand, or 4.2% + $0.40 on Pro.
